Riverboat Wine Voyages: Session 4, France II

Join us as on a journey to discover some of the most prolific wine regions of the world!

Taste up to 50 wines of vastly different styles and origins over 10 sessions, and gain valuable knowledge and insights into the art of wine appreciation. Whether you're a seasoned wine drinker or a novice who can't tell between tannins and terroir, you're sure to enjoy this lighthearted gathering where you can make new friends and have a grape time together on board!

The "voyage" begins at 7pm with a reception of chips and canapes. Move around the deck with a glass in hand and get to know your fellow voyagers - trust us, wine is more fun with friends! At 7.15pm, shortly after "setting sail", our invited guest wine specialist Ms Akimi Yeo will deliver a short presentation on the wines of the evening, as well as interesting facts and trivia about the regions from which they hail. Continue to mingle around and sip on the day's wines, or chat up our team of wine specialists and aficionados present, who will be more than glad to share with you their passion and insights on the wonderful world of wine.

Our fourth voyage in this series begins in style in the heart of the Champagne region, in the commune of Epernay, in a beautiful village called Cerseuil. Luxuriate in an atmosphere of elegance as you sip on a glass of bubbly from Champagne Mansard, a family-run winery that has been making distinctive, much sought-after champagnes for 4 generations.

Champagne Mansard Brut

After navigating through a series of inland waterways, our voyage takes us to the famous Gironde estuary in Southwest France, which is where the Dordogne and Garonne rivers meet. We have come to Bordeaux, arguably the most influential and referenced wine region of the world thanks to its prime geological conditions and commitment to excellence. This winemaker's paradise is largely divided into three areas - the Left Bank, Right Bank, and the area between the two rivers known as Entre-Doux-Mers (Literal translation: between two seas)... each with its own distinctive styles.

Chateau Maison Neuve 2013 - Sauvignon Blanc

Chateau Patarabet (St Emilion) 2010 - Merlot-CabSauv

Chateau Le Moines (Medoc) 2006 - CabSauv-Merlot

The evening ends on a sweet note, with a delightful wine made from botrytis-affected Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle grapes. Be enraptured in aromas of apricots, peaches and honeysuckle, as the Riverboat cruises gracefully into the sunset.

Sauternes (Actual Label TBC)

For those looking to widen your knowledge and understanding of wine and deepen your appreciation of it, this is certainly a voyage not to be missed!
